Associate of Science and Criminal Justice
When earning your Associate of Science and Criminal Justice degree you will be required to take a course that will help you learn to develop the expertise, knowledge and confidence in your abilities to secure an entry level position in the criminal justice field, or advance your career in law enforcement in any number of branches of government either on a federal, local or state level or with a private agency. Students who have the AS in Criminal justice degree will be more likely to obtain further training from the criminal justice agencies and have an advantage over those without this degree.
Students who enter this fast-paced, extensive program will have basic courses in general education and exciting courses in criminology, criminal evidence and procedure, international justice, criminal investigation, juvenile justice, police and their procedures, and corrections process; students can then enter the criminal justice field or further their education by obtaining a bachelor's degree in the criminal justice field.

The Associate of Science Health Information Management (Medical Coding and Billing)
The Associate of Science Degree Health Information Management (Medical Coding and Billing) fortifies the student's skills and talent so they can begin and hold station in a myriad of fields of medical coding and go on to become Medical Coding Specialists, Medical Records Technicians and other similar positions within the Health Information Management area. The goal of the program is to prepare students for the Certified Coding Associate exam.
Program Objectives
In order to graduate with an Associate's degree in the Science Health Information Management program, you will be required to take an exam which when passed will lead to an AHIMA coding certificate. Students will also be trained to:
- Explain the role and function of various kinds of healthcare facilities and environments.
- To support the function of health care administration, utilize billing software and health-related coding.
