Medical Transcriptionist Training
The five year program which combines liberal arts and professional education will, at the end of four years, have you on the way to the Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic studies. After five years of course work and at least 24 weeks of guided fieldwork, you will be on your way to the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Then the student is qualified to take the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) National Certification Examination. Once the NBCOT exam has been successfully completed, students will be able to practice as an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OSR).
Master of Science in Occupational Therapy
To improve the health and well-being of others in a wide variety of settings is the goal of the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program. In this program students are prepared to be excellent practitioners and leaders. The students are made fully capable of applying occupational theory knowledge and expertise.
We offer the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program for those with baccalaureate degrees in other fields. The MSOT is ideal for students who can be responsible for their own growth, be flexible and dynamic in the workplace, and can deal with a wide cross-section of people and problems. This program will make the student ready for practice as an occupational therapist in both traditional and non-traditional settings. Academic courses with integrated experiences in fieldwork are combined in this program.
The course contains two years of classes, plus twenty four weeks of internship. Most classes will be during the day, with occasional evening labs. There is no spring entrance option, as each course builds off of prior courses. This creative solution lets students get their MS degree from home while continuing their career. The program increases the practitioners' ability to apply current theory, research, and knowledge of health systems and social service systems in their clinical practice setting.
