Commencement ceremonies

Capella University holds commencement exercises twice every year; one is held every August in Minneapolis, while the other is held in another major city in either February or March. A live and archived webcast of the graduation ceremony is provided, so that those who couldn't attend are able to see you graduate.

Time and place doesn't matter because wherever you have an Internet connection, you can gain access to the Capella online course room. Decide on the best time and place for you. Every week you take part in class discussions, post your work, and review feedback from faculty and fellow students. You can do a lot of the course work offline.

What is your approach to web-based learning?

  • Conduct an orientation that helps beginning students to quickly find their way around.
  • Don't let technology prevent you from learning.
  • Design a curriculum flexible enough to meet students' varying levels of technical skills.

Go to your online classroom for all of your assignments. The syllabus clearly states what activities should be carried out each week. To assist you with organization and planning, all requirements, deadlines, and evaluation standards are viewable.

Several factors affect the amount of time that it will take for you to earn your degree:

  • The program you have chosen
  • The amount of credit from another college or university that is transferable to your Capella course.
  • Any credits that you are able to earn by proving previous learning experiences outside of the classroom.
  • The number of classes you take each quarter.
