One of our primary concerns was the reason they chose Everest for their online studies. We were also curious as to their opinions of our online degree programs.

There are many reasons why students select us for their online education. According to students, a variety of factors influence their decision to attend Everest online classes.

Among the reasons they cited were the accreditation of the school, the reputation of the faculty members, the quality of the school's Career Placement Services, scheduling flexibility, and the curriculum; these were not the only reasons, but important ones given by all.

Online courses are the exact equivalent of campus courses. You must complete your assignment on time like an campus course, but you get the luxury of studying at your convenience.

As a student you will be provided with a career placement service. We want you to have access to employment support when you begin your job search. The Career Services Directors at our colleges can assist students with their resumes, interviewing techniques, and job search. Accelerated Learning

Certain courses offer proficiency exams, so you're able to meet your credits sooner, and graduate more quickly. In addition, students can transfer credits from previous college courses, enabling them to finish the program of their choice sooner.

Everest's online program is very diverse in its student body. Some of our students enjoy communicating with the teacher and their peers using online discussion groups or in chat rooms. There are other students who prefer to just sign in and view their classwork. Your amount of participation and activity in each class is up to you. The decision is yours.

Paralegal

Legal assistants and paralegals continue to be in high and increasing demand. These professionals in their own right are taking on the same functions as lawyers, as their field of competence and responsibility is ever-increasing. Practical litigation skills and tasks will be provided in the training program.

As a future Legal Assistant or Paralegal, you will learn all facets of litigation assistance, including legal research, drafting of pleadings and other legal documents, as well as the fundamentals of contract law. Students will be familiarized with the terminology and procedures applied to such topics as estate planning, wills, estate sales and taxes, and joint tenancy. This program covers principal subjects such as family and criminal law. Divorce, separation, adoption, custody, guardianship, and community property are the specializations of Family Law. Common law, statutory crimes and punishment, crime classification, principles of liability, and basic criminal procedure concepts are all covered in the criminal law.

The Legal Assistant/Paralegal Associate in Science Degree prepares students for a wide variety of tasks associated with legal practice, including office management, client interviewing, fact gathering and interpretation, legal research and document preparation.

The paralegal program that is offered at the Phoenix Campus is the only program approved by the ABA for Everest College Paralegals.

Paralegal (BS)

The Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Assistant/Paralegal prepares graduates for all aspects of attorney assistance and law office management.

Graduates can work in legal offices, state and federal government agencies, corporate legal departments, insurance companies and legal aid societies.

Career Outlook for a Paralegal (BS) Degree

You can work alongside attorneys and other legal professionals in many different areas when you obtain an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Assistant/Paralegal studies.

Legal Assistant/Paralegal

The titles of "Legal Assistant" and "Paralegal" are known to mean the same thing, similar to the way that "attorney" and "lawyer" are interchangeable. An attorney may delegate any function of the legal service to qualified legal assistants and paralegals.

Paralegals, under the supervising attorney, conduct client and witness interviews, investigations and research, draft legal documents, and attend court hearings and trials.
