Online Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice

The Associate of Science in Criminal Justice degree offers courses where students will learn the foundation and background needed for entry-level positions. A total of 60 online credits are required for the Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

Covering the same topics as the Bachelors degree, students will obtain an extensive knowledge base. Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Public Safety

The Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Public Safety degree is designed to educate those who are dedicated to preserving our nation's safety. With the increase in demand for public safety and security professionals in the US, Herzing College Online has carefully planned the Bachelor of Science degree to ensure that when you graduate the program, you will be well qualified for any number of positions in the field.

The program consists of three key subjects; fire safety, homeland security and criminal justice. Coursework consists of core requirements from the criminal justice, security and public safety curriculums, including a final project that incorporates homeland security and public safety, which is mandatory for graduation.

Although a minor and concentration are not included with this degree, it more easily allows the transfer of previously earned credits from other universities. Graduates can pursue careers in Hazardous Material Management, Domestic and International Terrorism, Public Event Planning, Law Enforcement and Industrial Security and Cyber crime.

The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (BSCJ) is the perfect answer to the growing demand for experience in the public safety field, and the need for trained security professionals in the areas of Homeland Security, Fire Safety and Criminal Justice. Our Criminal Justice graduates will be prepared for occupations in the fields of Domestic & International Terrorism, Cyber Crime, Hazardous Material Management, Public Event Planning, Law Enforcement, and Industrial Security. The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Homeland Security degree is designed for students who want to develop a strong foundation in public safety and homeland security, and are without prior college credit for transfer.

A student who takes a full course load will normally complete the program within four semesters. A minimum of 63 semester credit hours are required for graduation. Students have to maintain a keyboarding speed of at least 40 net words per minute, before they can obtain the Associate of Science in Legal Assisting/Paralegal degree.

It’s important to mention that the New Orleans Campus doesn’t permit Paralegal students to offer their legal services directly to the public unless it’s overseen by the law.
