Liberty University in an online accredited university that offers associate's, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs. There are more than 40 degree programs and 90 areas of concentration in business, education, nursing, counseling, psychology, and religion. The distance learning programs were pioneered in 1985 and have been consistently growing ever since. Today there are over 37,000 online students.
Doctoral programs available include Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling, Education Specialist, Doctor of Education, Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Philosophy in Theology and Apologetics. The master's degree program includes master's degrees in teaching, education, nursing, human services, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, accounting, management and leadership, business administration, Christian leadership, religious education, pastoral counseling, and a wide range of other seminary disciplines. The bachelor's programs include accounting, business, criminal justice, education, management information systems, multidisciplinary studies, nursing (RN to BSN), psychology, and religion. Minors are available in accounting, business, criminal justice, management information systems, and psychology. Associate’s degrees are available in the same disciplines as the bachelor's degree program.
Liberty University Online offers a dual enrollment program for 11th and 12th grade students. This program allows students to get a jump start on their college education earning college credit before high school graduation. This program is called The Edge.
Financial aid programs are available to students who require tuition assistance. Federal grants, student loans, parent loans, and scholarships are available. The financial aid resource office provides assistance in directing students toward the best suited program.
Other student resources available to online learners is the writing center and graduate writing center, the Liberty University Bruckner Learning Center, study aids, and disability support. Accommodations and support services are available to disabled students who qualify. Accommodations are made for those with physical injuries, psychiatric disabilities, or the visual or hearing impaired.
