Mountain State University's Distance learning program is an option for those who cannot attend classes in person. Distance learning can either add to, or completely replace, traditional classroom study by utilizing television, computer or Internet-based teaching, in addition to a number of other technologies. We're here for those who work a full time job that need a flexible school schedule. Our online courses offer the flexibility some of our students need to fit their busy schedules. Distance learning also makes it possible for the disabled and others who are unable to attend traditional campus classes to get the degree or certificate of their choice.
Mountain State University uses the Blackboard CE and WebCT CE 4 online management systems for your online courses. With tools provided to students in either program, they can: access course information, communicate with their instructors and other students, take tests and submit homework.

Along with the development of new technologies, the profession is also changing and growing. What are the disciplines available to me at Mountain State University?
One of three criminal justice concentrations with classes available on campus, and online, is Homeland Security. With this recognized specialty training, you will be prepared to properly respond to disasters, emergencies, and crises promptly as law enforcement professional.
Managing law enforcement agencies along with focusing on scientifically approaching the management of crime scenes are involved with Police Science, another discipline. If leadership is one of your strengths, then a career in criminal justice may be right for you.
The concentration of interdisciplinary activities related to Corrections Management is suited for a person who aims to peruse a leadership occupation in correction agencies, jails, or prisons.
At MSU, studies with focus on both online classes and classroom are provided enabling a student to earn credit towards an associate degree in criminal justice.
