The web-based educational environment brings the traditional classroom to a new level, and this is why:

  • Student-focused attention - With web-a based education, you become empowered by learning on your own and even helping your fellow students to learn. You are provided with a chance to explain, share, comment upon, and critique course materials by the discussion group mode. You also gain knowledge from experts in the profession as your teachers interact with you and mentor you.
  • Discussion - You can participate in online discussions anytime. This arrangement gives you time to think about questions and formulate well-crafted answers creating invaluable interchanging of thoughts and ideas.
  • Writing - Written communication is the primary mode of communication in an online course. Communication, including discussions, assignments, requests for assistance, projects and tests, is conducted mostly in writing. Writing is a crucial skill.
  • Wide access to resources - Students and faculty of the entire Norwich University are able to access the Kreitzberg Library, both online and on-campus. Through our library, students currently have access to 100 online databases, 22,000 full-text electronic journals and tens of thousands of e-Books. Additionally, for those resources that are not available on the Internet, the library provides books in print and journal articles through the Document Delivery service. This allows you to perform professional and scholarly research in the comfort of your own home. Our Reference Librarians provide research assistance via e-mail, telephone, or instant messaging, and we have a dedicated Distance Learning Librarian who will show you how to maximize the resources available to you through the library.
  • Immediate response and feedback - For an online course, office hours are available round-the-clock, so you can get a response very quickly. Expect to receive feedback within 24 hours when with just a click, you can send questions and requests to professors, program directors, or fellow students.
  • Flexibility - Distance is not an issue and online learning knows no time zones and location, so there is flexibility. This program is based on a cutting-edge asynchronous model. Therefore it isn't necessary to attend instruction in real time.
  • Small class size - Each class includes not more than a group of 15 students, called a cohort. Students in the same cohort will participate in learning activities including online discussions, and progress through the program together. Bringing tremendous value to the learning experience, our cohort members have varying backgrounds.
  • Networking - You benefit from individual attention from your instructors and you will also form close relationships with your peers, developing a large professional network through these interactions. This will pave your way for long-term relationships at personal and professional levels.
