The Regis University College was created for high degree programs through online and classroom courses. For those adult learners looking to advance in their profession, or seeking to switch professions, or simply bring their knowledge and skills up to date, Regis CPS offers various options and convenient formats for classes and programs.

Since the 1970's The College for Professional Studies has provided a great schooling program for working adults. Through on-campus and online courses, CPS is providing a higher learning program for 13,000 students world-wide. CPS boasts of a faculty of practitioners who are essentially Master's degree holders with a substantial number with a Ph.D. and years of experience. These are some of the types of degrees you could earn. We mix up the theory and practice of each field to give a student first-hand knowledge.

Of course an online class is going to differ from on-campus classes. Students who are engaged in online learning must learn to think differently about how to communicate with faculty, how to interact with their peers, how to complete assignments and tests, and most importantly, how to study. You need to be able to manage your time well to be a successful online student.

All of our online courses are in accelerated formats. Weekly assignments and online participation will need to be completed each week. Online courses do require self-discipline considering the fact that they are not self-paced. The class keeps you on your toes with assignment deadlines, and class preparation.

Are you an organized person? For the most part, your login times during your school week will be up to you. We'll give you the "how" and "what," but you will have to provide the "when." Any time it's convenient for you, you can log in to your online course, 24 hours a day. To be successful, you will have to know how to manage your schedule.

You will need to be self-motivated. When it comes to online learning, due to the flexibility and convenience, it is really easy to procrastinate and put off class work until the very last minute. Staying motivated is the key to keeping current with assignments and class work. For students in an accelerated program, it is hard to catch up after falling behind.

How do you feel about independent work? You will have some interaction with other students, but your work will mainly be completed by yourself. You will never face your classmates or instructor face-to-face. You must have a great level of self-discipline to be successful with online courses.

Do you feel comfortable working with technology? All course work, including assignments, tests, and communication with teachers and other students, is done online. Online programs require mandatory Internet access of reliable quality along with the ability of email correspondence and participation in threaded discussions as well as the knowledge of sending, receiving and viewing documents.

If you like to be challenged then this is for you. An accelerated online class is more demanding than a traditional class, requiring students to spend more hours per week for each class. You have to study harder, and interact more with fellow students and your instructor more than a traditional class. Your average study time with online courses is about 15-20 hours per week.
