St. Xavier University

St. Xavier University is a four-year university with an enrollment of over 5,000 men and women. This Catholic institution was one of the first colleges in the state of Illinois and was founded in 1847. The student body is diverse and includes residential, international, and online students.

A variety of online programs are available including an MS in Nursing and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction. Students with a desire to be a leader in patient care are able to obtain a Master's degree in Nursing and Clinical Nurse Leader. This program includes core courses like pathophysiology, pharmacology, health care systems and finance, family systems assessment, epidemiology, and population based health care. Clinical practicum work is done in the student's local area prior to graduation. The nursing instructors are experts in their field of study. All online nursing instructors have their PhD and RN licensing.

A Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction is also available from St. Xavier. This degree offers the instruction skills required to apply the practices of curriculum and instruction to the education world and corporate environment. Students with or without a teaching certificate may apply to this program. Courses include human growth and development, educational movements, anthropology, literacy issues, leadership, and instructional strategies for teacher leaders. All curriculum and instruction faculty have their PhD and offer their expertise in the field of study.

Career services are available online and at the St. Xavier campus. Online students are available to chat or email academic and student advisors to ensure curriculum understanding is obtained. Career services will aid students from start to finish of their online education and then provide employment assistance. Career services include resume workshops, cover letter writing, interviewing skills, and job strategies and search. The career services department is also available to its alumni undergoing job transfers.
