College of Health Sciences

This program provides students the knowledge and skills needed to work as a leader in health care management and health care education across a wide variety of settings. The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences degree prepares students for a wide variety of careers in health care management and education by providing an education focused on improving the health and well-being of the citizens they will serve. Degree programs provide students in-depth knowledge of critical thinking, ethical practice and collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team. Critical thinking, ethical practice, and promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration are the main objectives of our high quality degree programs which are provided by imparting in-depth knowledge an understanding. With our highly qualified and diverse faculty and the advanced technology available with us, we offer a student-centered approach to effective learning which will meet the needs of our diverse population of adult learners, including segments which have traditionally been underserved.

Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences

The College of Health Sciences offers a variety of specialties available within the context of the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Degree Program. The main aim of this program is to provide the basic skills and knowledge required for management to the students for education careers available in different health care areas. This undergraduate program provides students interested in health education with the knowledge and skills they need to evaluate, plan and implement health and human services programs. Opportunities for careers in organizations such as health departments, hospitals, clinics, voluntary health agencies, health care industries and businesses are all well-suited for our graduates. This program is a golden opportunity for health care professionals to expand their knowledge and their techniques in the chief functions of management for those students who are wanting to be involved in management. The analytical and problem-solving skills that all health care professionals needs are taught to our students. You will also learn how to identify and appreciate the economic, political and social environment in which health care functions. This curriculum is structured to aid students in improving their ability to research, and help them process information which medical managers and teachers utilize in their decision making. Students will acquire additional understanding of numerous health issues, both legal and ethical.

TUI University College of Health Sciences offers different programs with different majors and options towards the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences.

When you successfully complete the minimum 124 semester credits; with up to 92 semester transfer credits, from other accredited colleges or universities, are acceptable at TUI (see transfer policy), you will have earned your Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences from TUI.

In order to achieve a degree, students are required to finish a minimum of 32 semester credits at TUI.

Health Care Management Concentration

Today's health care field encompasses many areas of importance and specialization; Health Care Management is one of them. Our environment is dynamic and ever changing, leaving health care managers facing the challenge of providing high quality care at an affordable price. In the midst of the 21st century, the health care manager needs to be knowledgable of new developments in the health field and technology as well as the basic managerial aspects of an organization. A well-designed Health Care Management Course has been designed to provide primary management awareness and skills to health care professionals. Classes are designed to teach the real world problem solving skills necessary for managers in the field of health care. Students will be taught to identify and appreciate the economic, political and social funtions. The program is designed to allow members of management to develop an awareness of both legal and ethical issues.
